Two policemen were injured when they were attacked by the family of the accused at Kachnar Toli in Ranchi on Wednesday. Assistant Sub-Inspector Lallan Kumar suffered facial injuries and Sub-Inspector Sanjay Kumar was also manhandled.
The police said they received a complaint that one Naushad Ansari was trying to threaten a person in connection with his appeal as a witness in a court case.
When the police arrived at Naushad's house to investigate, his family engaged the officers. Rural SP Naushad Alam said, "A charge has been registered, no one has been arrested so far."
